If you were driving to work this morning and saw a man in shorts walking the dog and pushing a stroller with nothing in it, headed towards the woods, that was me. The only way that might’ve been weirder would’ve been if I actually had the dog IN the stroller, which I’ve seen people do, but let’s not go there.
The reality is that I was trying to find a nice background (instead of my post-rainstorm worm-riddled driveway) to show you guys a few of the features on the new Quinny Buzz Xtra stroller that we just got for Mason…
My wife is in LOVE with this thing and now that she’s back at work after maternity leave, I’m logging some serious miles on this bad boy. We recently moved deeper into the suburbs (yikes!) and the amazing part about the tires on thing is that I can take it from the sidewalk right onto the shortcut trail that goes through the woods and into the playground. It’s got an easy braking system-two pedals on the left and right, one that activates the brake, the other releasing it. Plus, the rims look like the matte finish I wanted to put on my car, but had to build a nursery instead 😉
The absolute BEST feature in my opinion, is that it’s one of the few or possibly only strollers I’ve seen that allows you to reverse the seat. You can have your baby face you, if it keeps them from crying too much or the sun out of their eyes OR flip it around, so your baby can take in the view and you can pretend like you’re just leisurely pushing the lawn mower through the quiet backyard holding a lemonade cocktail.
The canopy itself is enough to almost completely shade baby from the sun, but it also has a secret zipper, which releases another few inches of coverage, making it almost dark inside.
And for the big guys (or tall gals), it’s got a push-button telescoping handle, so we’re not shuffling through the neighborhood like a bunch of hunchbacks.
Collapsing the Buzz Xtra is fairly simple, too, which is definitely important for us.
The actual seat detaches (bumper bar pops off by pressing two buttons and footrest flattens as well), leaving the frame, which compresses down and locks in place. If you REALLY need more room in the back of your car, the wheels also pop off with the push of a button, making it completely flat and almost invisible. Well, maybe not totally invisible.
You should really visit Quinny on Facebook and also check out their site for more details. I highly recommend you give this thing a spin.
