I’m not exactly sure what the year was, but I do remember that I was still in Los Angeles, working for Adam Sandler. Someone had gotten in touch with Brooks Arthur, an incredible music producer and member of the Happy Madison family.
They had introduced him to a new shoe that was coming out and asked if we were interested in a few. I remember the day that the shipment came in and Brooks walked around the office, tossing each of us a pair.
They struck me as a bit odd, rubber clog-type things with holes in them. I thought maybe they seemed like a good boating shoe or maybe something to wear to the beach – which is exactly what I used them for, as I was living right on Speedway Avenue in Venice.
Since moving back east, my O.G. Crocs have pretty much sat in the back of my closet. I hadn’t really followed the brand too closely, partly because LIFE.
So you can imagine my surprise when they reached out to me a few weeks ago and asked if me and my family would like to try a few pairs out. I kind of chuckled when I read the email, but then clicked on the link and looked at how diverse they’ve become over the last few years.
So they sent us a few to test-drive.
I never expected to find these…
A wedge boot for my wife, pink rain/snow boots for Ava, the Santa Cruz for Charlie and Mason and these SUPER dope duck boots for me. I’m telling you – I’ve been wearing these ducks almost every day. True to the Croc sole, it feels like you’re walking on air.
And the kids totally dig theirs as well…
