Sometimes you just get the perfect day. You’re getting the kids ready to go out and the stars align perfectly. The diaper bag is already stocked up from the day before, her bib caught all the stains at lunch and spared the shirt. You didn’t get poop on your hands while changing the diaper and she loves the floral hat you picked out for her. You don’t have to clean pacifiers off with your own mouth and the blankie isn’t jammed into an A/C vent or stuffed under fridge, it’s right there in front of you.
Sometimes everything goes off without a hitch and you think, ‘Wow, raising kids is simple as pie. I don’t know what these other idiots are complaining about.’
This was not one of those times.

I’m really glad that so far I have had way more of the first kind of days you mention than the second. The crappy ones have a way of sticking with you though. And I don’t have to worry about hats and blankets yet.
Sorry you caught the bad day, Isaac’s becoming more of a toddler which means my time is probably right around the corner…

Ph yes. There it is. And that’s when you whip out something sweet, perhaps a cliff bar, or juice, or any old thing. Sweet and edible. Does the trick.

You win some, you lose most. Just another day as a dad 😛
