Summary Statement:

It is the primary responsibility of the Horticulture Specialist to perform horticultural operations for installation, maintenance, and improvement of landscaped areas throughout the exterior and interior of the property. There will be a heavy emphasis on interior plants, design, and maintenance. Job will be 70% interior and 30% exterior. Need to have basic knowledge of houseplant care, interior plant light levels, watering needs, floral design principles and techniques. Exterior will involve basic knowledge of suitable plants and their requirements for the Las Vegas Valley.

Primary Job Duties: Includes but is not limited to:

• Executes assigned operational functions within the department consistent with the strategic plan and vision for the division, department, and Resorts World Las Vegas.
• Must be able to handle the delivery and measurement of guest service consistent with the Resorts World service standards and brand attributes.
• Responsible for the care of interior plants including periodically examining all interior plants as well as all cut floral displayed around the property.
• Responds to and resolves guest complaints in a timely manner and creatively solves problems with the ability to anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and resolve potential difficulties related to horticulture.
• Communicates with the Manager or Director regarding all operational issues.
• Ensures the privacy and confidentiality of guests and limits requests for information pertaining to guests in accordance with hotel policies.
• Ensures all equipment and work areas are kept clean and clear of any safety hazards.
• incorporates the core values of Resorts World Las Vegas into their everyday tasks.
• Use personal device/cellular phone for job related operational tasks, job duties, review of company documents, etc.
• Perform other job-related duties as requested.

Qualifications: Includes but is not limited to:

• At least 2 years of experience in Ornamental Horticulture, Interior landscape, & floral design.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Able to work alone and in teams.
• Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
• Self-motivated with excellent organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under time constraints and established deadlines.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment; maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude and ability to operate effectively while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
• Ability to work cohesively with other Department Management.
• Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• At least 21 years of age.

Preferred :

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Floriculture or other related field of equivalent work experience.
• Relevant technical training, licenses, and/or certifications
• Previous experience working in a large, luxury resort setting.

Certificates, Licenses, Regulations:

• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
