As a web and native code development team, we leverage cutting edge, industry standard development tools and help lead the innovation efforts across our Outlook client portfolio. 

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with a passion around building products, with a focus towards security and performance as key attributes of their designs, and with a desire to work on an agile, inclusive, and collaborative environment that supports people be their best.  

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  o OR equivalent experience

• 4+ years of experience working on full stack development.  

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

• 2+ years of experience with web technologies like TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, ReactJs and Webpack.
• A drive for technical excellence and quality.
• Customer focus with a passion for delivering delightful experiences. 
• Experience owning and developing features end-to-end.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.

Responsibilities

• Functional design and development of new features to deliver experiences customers will love. 
• Able to work both independently and to lead small teams to create maintainable, well-tested code and the monitoring systems to ensure that it functions well in production. 
• Create and evaluate telemetry to discover bugs, customer pain points, and opportunities for improvement to make our users’ lives a little better every day.  
• Work closely with engineers across the organization to ensure seamless experiences at scale. 
• Collaborate with partner teams to brainstorm and communicate ideas, measure, and incorporate feedback. 
• Help diagnose service health and outages.
