Job Description

We are seeking an associate attorney who can handle an active caseload, which includes a mix of family based, citizenship, humanitarian, and removal defense cases. We are seeking someone who would like to be part of a firm deeply rooted in its community.

• Key Responsibilities:*
• Meet with clients in our office to advise on the case and prepare case strategies, including complex strategies for clients with complicated cases
• Prepare applications/petitions for immigration benefits and affidavits
• Perform legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and briefs
• Help clients navigate the immigration system, whether with USCIS, the Consulates, or EOIR
• Attend interviews and court hearings in San Antonio to represent clients
• Supervise and train paralegals and staff
• What We're Looking For:*
• *Bar admission*: Must have a J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school and be an active member in good standing of any state in the U.S. A Texas license, or willingness to obtain one, is preferred but not required.
• *Experience*: We are seeking a person with 5 years of relevant immigration law and/or policy experience. Some federal court litigation experience is preferred but not required.
• *Commitment*: We are seeking someone who can commit to working with our team long term, who is excited about learning and growing in the field of immigration law.
• *Client-focused mindset*: Excellent interpersonal skills and dedication to delivering top-notch legal services with a client-centered mindset.
• *Language*: Must fluently speak, read and write in Spanish
